De Ridder Group is the permanent capital base of a group of operating companies. We own, co-own, grow and steward these businesses across cycles. We are not looking for the earliest exit. We are building something meant to last, compounding value through disciplined ownership, consistent governance and above-average growth.
Our portfolio is deliberate. Every company we own serves the daily lives of lower- and middle-income consumers in Africa, the most consequential and fastest-growing economic constituency on the continent. Building durable businesses for this market is not a charitable act. It is a sound and enduring investment thesis.

We identify and support promising enterprises that are building solutions to foundational challenges, from utilities to financial access to education. Through strategic partnerships, tailored capital and mentorship, we strengthen indigenous approaches. We bring the patience that a multi-generational view makes possible.
RENEWABLE ENERGY
Clean, reliable energy should not be a privilege. We build solar solutions designed for emerging market realities, with flexible payment structures and community-based franchise models that lower the barriers to entry for both consumers and local entrepreneurs.
WATER & SANITATION
Sustainable water access in challenging environments requires more than infrastructure. It requires governance, community trust and systems built to outlast the people who built them. We integrate technology, renewable energy and transparent local engagement into every project.
FOOD SECURITY
We bring affordable, nutritious food to underserved communities through locally sourced ingredients and a community-based distribution model that creates employment alongside food access. Nutrition and livelihoods are not separate problems, and we do not treat them as such.
When distribution is structured well, it becomes a livelihood. Our network marketing model creates meaningful income opportunities for everyday entrepreneurs, particularly in communities where formal employment is scarce. Participants build their own businesses selling products people already need. They do it with training, structure and a supply chain they can rely on. All our businesses contribute to job creation.
DIGITAL HEALTHCARE
We build digital platforms that expand access to quality healthcare while keeping cost down and compassion intact. Telemedicine, electronic health records for resource-limited settings, and AI-supported clinical tools are all part of a system designed to be both human-centred and operationally sound.
FINANCIAL INCLUSION
We build technology-driven financial services for communities that traditional banking has consistently underserved. Mobile banking, flexible microfinance and inclusive credit assessment are the mechanisms. Respectful relationships are the foundation. We let people shape their own financial journeys rather than being shaped by rigid systems.
EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY
Geography and infrastructure should never determine access to quality education. We develop digital solutions aligned with local curricula and accessible across all connectivity levels, including offline, so that every learner has a fair start regardless of where they live.
We identify fundamental challenges in emerging markets and design thoughtful, technology-enabled responses to them. We do not impose external models. We work from the inside out, in close collaboration with local operators, communities and partners who understand their contexts deeply.
